In 1961 East Germany erected the Berlin Wall - 1,200 US-sponsored anti-Castro exiles invade Cuba at the Bay of Pigs - The first US astronaut, Alan B. Shepard, Jr., rockets into space aboard the Freedom 7 - 2,000 US military advisers are in South Vietnam - Patsy Cline releases I Fall to Pieces and Crazy. - West Side Story is adapted for the big screen and wins Best Picture and 1979/1980 graduates were born. 

The Grayville High School class of 1961 will be celebrating its 40^th anniversary this year FIRST WEEKEND IN AUGUST in Grayville - 2001.
